Simply put, we are a trio whose friendship largely came to be over a cup of coffee, a grilled cheese sandwich and a Wi-Fi connection.
Throughout our student years, we began to realize there was a lack of cafes that double as comfortable work spaces. Soon, our student years were behind us and we started looking for that cafe that will allow us to escape the corporate office and be lost in a good old book. Simultaneously, we expected great coffee and a flexible menu, of course.

The spark that would become Blacksmith was struck near Washington Square Park in Manhattan, where a freshman from New York University Abu Dhabi first encountered specialty coffee. While he traveled the world, he found that when treated with care, precision, and creativity, coffee was truly a craft.

We started off by having a coffee stand next to our main gallery in Al Bateen. It soon evolved into a destination considered as one of the hidden gems of Abu Dhabi. True to our roots, our brand is synonymous with sustainability. All of our furniture and fixtures are handcrafted in-house from repurposed and recycled materials. Plate and face painting 3D models are activities you can enjoy doing whilst your meal is being prepared. We encourage our guest to become apart of our creative community by placing your plate designs on the interior walls of the café. A portion of all plate and face sales goes towards charity. In addition, we also seek artists within our community to display selected works on our feature wall
